It’s a smart way to save as few dollars when you have friends or family visiting that just have to go to the Strip with you… again.
Showing a Nevada ID at nearly any dance club, gentleman’s club, golf club or seal club (joking) means a huge discount, along with immediate recognition by the bouncer that you likely aren’t a complete boob. This is often seasonal or it may depend on how busy the place happens to be. Here’s the trick, when you walk in the door a lot of places won’t advertise their local specials, especially busy clubs, restaurants and bars. They want to attract locals with their deals, but if you don’t tell them they are happy to charge you the full price, so if you’re not sure try asking them.
Spy on Vegas hosts parties at different venues around the valley weekly, often sponsored by one drink company or another so you don’t even have to pay for alcohol when that is the case. It also gets sponsorships from the different bars around town, especially when they are first opening and they offer locals special rates a lot of the time. Occasionally they will have special rates for locals on concerts and other events, so check the “Upcoming Events” section on their site for details.
Monday Night Rocks at Crown Theater hosts free concerts for locals nearly every Monday night. Free? Yes, the concerts are completely free for locals. Just fill out the field in the “Buy Tickets” section, print and go. The performances vary from underground rap icons like Afroman to hard metal bands like Kill Devil Hill. Often well-known names in the music industry will perform with Las Vegas local band Sin City Sinners. For instance the month of July will have George Lynch w/ Sin City Sinners July 4th, Kip Winger w/ Sin City Sinners July 11, Bruce Kulick w/ Sin City Sinners July 18 and Phil Lewis with Sin City Sinners July 25th. You can go to any or all of them completely free if you are a local.
Local’s casinos like the Station Casinos usually have memberships available that are catered toward locals. In truth these casinos offer the same deal to tourists though, so it is not technically a deal for locals, just a local’s casino. It is a better deal than the Strip though.
Yes, living in Las Vegas does have its perks. You just need to know where to look. There are probably tons of other great deals specifically for locals, so if you find any lets us know!
